Greensboro, NC – Christine Hilt presented at the North Carolina Section of American Society of Civil Engineers 2009 Fall Conference, “LEED for Engineers” on August 28th, in Greensboro, NC.
August 2009 | First City of Raleigh LEED Silver Building Awarded
Raleigh, NC - City of Raleigh Neuse River Wastewater Treatment Plant Administration Building Addition receives LEED Silver certification. This is the City of Raleigh’s first LEED Silver building. CLH Design now has 4 LEED awarded projects with 13 LEED projects pending various levels of LEED certifications.

Jason has recently completed the American Council of Engineering Companies of NC (ACEC - NC) Future Leaders program. This is a year long program that provides in-depth industry knowledge.

Apex, NC - Christine Hilt was a guest speaker at the North Carolina LID Group (NCSU), "Integrating LID, LEED & Policy" held at the Apex Town Hall.
May 2009 | Christine Hilt panelist at American Council of Engineering Companies of NC (ACEC of NC) Federal Forum
Raleigh, NC - Christine Hilt was a panelist for the Federal Forum workshop "Design Build Pros and Cons" that was held at the McKimmon Center on NCSU's campus.
May 2009 | Golden Belt Receives the 2009 Golden Leaf Honor Award for Sustainable Properties
Durham, NC - The Golden Belt project is a thriving example of sustainable downtown revitalization of a historic textile mill in the heart of the Downtown Durham, NC. Golden Belt was restored and repurposed to provide safe and secure places for the community to eat, sleep, work and play. The seven acre site houses seven buildings that incorporate residential lofts, artist studios, community gathering areas, retail stores, cafes, office space along with a performing arts space. This project is currently pending a LEED Certified rating from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).

Cary, NC - Christine Hilt presented "The Changing Face of LEED" during the Strategies in Sustainability, Providing the Tools to Go Green Conference April 16 - 18, 2009 in Asheville, NC. Workshop discussed what LEED is, the changes to LEED for 2009 - including the regional credits, taking the LEED exam and the process for certifying a project. Click here for complete pdf.
March 2009 | Christine Hilt presented at Southeast Regional CEFPI Conference
Cary, NC - Christine Hilt presented "Creating a Legacy through Community-Based Environmental Projects" at the Council of Education Facility Planners, International (CEFPI) Southeast Regional Conference, Revolution/Evolution: The Revolution of Ideas, the Evolution of Practice, in Williamsburg, VA, March 29 - April 1, 2009. This presentation looked at case studies for four schools where significant environmental education projects took place. Each study showed different approaches, different themes, varying levels of participation by the community and how to get staff, students and parents involved in the process. Participants also discussed how these projects improve not only the health of campuses but also of the students and teachers who make a stronger connection with nature. Click here for complete pdf.
March 2009 | USGBC NC Triangle Chapter Talk & Walk
Cary, NC - CLH Design was fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the March 25, 2009 US Green Building Council (USGBC), NC Triangle Chapter Talk & Walk. This Talk & Walk highlighted our Wake Forest Town Hall project, which is currently applying for Platinum LEED® Certification, and was led by Renee Pfeifer, ASLA, RLA, Project Manager; Zak Pierce, LAIT, LEED® AP, Project Designer; and Glenn Medlin, LEED® AP, Senior Designer, Field Representative.
