environmentally friendly site design for schools,
parks, and universities.
Besides being a leader in
sustainable site design, CLH Design has also
spear-headed environmental education by developing a
program "Sites
That Educate" to involve school
children in hands-on projects with global impacts.
Additionally, Christine L.
Hilt, ASLA, has taken an active role in publicly
promoting "Healthy Schools" and "Smart Growth
Schools" by tackling such complex issues as:
- applying Smarth Growth
principles to
school siting and design
- promoting Healthy
Schools by creating safe, walkable campuses
- incorporating
environmental education to promote community
stewardship of schools
We believe that
designing healthy schools and parks for the 21st
century takes active participation by the
whole community to create safe, healthy, and
happy children. It is our responsibility
as designers to have the vision to lead the way.
